Motoring Offences

Motoring Offence Fees – Magistrates Court

We charge a fixed fee for representation at the Magistrates Court for motoring offences requiring a single hearing at court. For example, guilty pleas to offences such as speeding, drink/drug driving, failing to provide a specimen, no insurance/licence, using a mobile phone whilst driving, careless driving (driving without due care and attention), driving whilst disqualified and failing to stop.

The fixed fee for such hearings is £550 plus VAT. Travel time to court is charged at £50ph and mileage at 45p per mile or public transport costs. The fixed fee includes an initial telephone conference, consideration of all relevant documents provided by you, initial communications with the police or CPS, preparation for plea and mitigation, representation at your hearing and correspondence so as to advise you on the outcome of your case. The fee does not cover taking witness statements, instructing experts or not guilty pleas.

You will be advised as to time scales during your initial telephone conference, however in general your court date will be fixed by the police following arrest or the court upon summons.

If your motoring case falls outside of the fixed fee offered above, we will provide you with a detailed estimate of our costs. You may be eligible for legal aid and we will advise you on your eligibility.
